The Loma Verde Aquatic Center is now open and ready for you to jump in!

This brand-new facility features a competitive lap pool, warm-up and teaching pool, sprayground, and new aquatic support spaces. Nestled within the Loma Verde Park, the aquatic center completes the second and final phase of the Loma Verde Recreation Center. The Community Center portion of the facility was completed in March 2023, and includes a multi-purpose gymnasium, dance room, crafts room, fitness room, game room, hard courts, restrooms, lifeguard staff room, and a break room.

“Our community can look forward to a diverse range of programming, including swim lessons, fitness classes, dance, art, martial arts, and community events,” said Acting Principal Recreation Manager Karina Craig.

The aquatic center expanded and replaced the existing pool facility to create more opportunities for programming and community engagement. The facility’s design evolved through an engagement process with feedback from the community, the City’s Parks and Recreation Department, and the facility staff members. The facility was celebrated with a Grand Opening in December, 2023.

“The new Loma Verde Aquatic Center serves as a modern catalyst for community unity, offering a state-of-the-art space that encourages people to come together for recreation, wellness, and shared experience,” Craig said. “It’s hard to pick just one favorite feature, but the interactive aquatic play area for kids stands out. It adds a joyful element to the facility, ensuring it’s not only a place for fitness but also a space for families to create lasting memories.”

This design-build project was completed with EC Constructors. COAR provided design services from master planning through construction documents. We loved seeing this project come to life, and now being used by visitors of all ages.

“Working with the COAR team has been a wonderful experience,” Craig said. “Their dedication to designing a facility based on the community’s wants and needs was evident with the Loma Verde Community Center project. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence ensured the final results exceeded expectations. They designed a facility that will be enjoyed by the community for decades to come.”
